Being on the cover of a magazine as the selected reader, inspired her to begin entering beauty pageants. She was crowned Miss Belgium in 2002 and won the title of Miss Antwerp as well. These accomplishments paved the way to her being able to be part of both Miss World and Miss Universe. She also appeared in Playboy in January of 2008. Ann is married to Gunter Van Handenhoven, a Belgian soccer player and brother of singer Sandrine Van Handenhoven.
